What we store on your device, why we store it, and how to change your mind.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small piece of text a website asks your browser to keep and hand back on your next request. It is how a site knows the page you are on now belongs to the same person who signed in a moment ago. Some of the things below are not cookies at all but browser storage, which works much the same way and is listed here for the same reason.
Everything we set is first-party, which means we set it ourselves and nobody else can read it. We do not run advertising networks, third-party analytics or social tracking pixels on this site.
Your choice, and changing it
The first time you visit we ask what you allow. Nothing outside the strictly necessary group is set before you answer, and if you reject everything, nothing outside that group is set at all. Your answer is remembered for 365 days, after which we ask again.
You can change it whenever you like, and withdrawing is as easy as agreeing was:
The same link sits in the footer of every page. Turning a group off also deletes what was set under it. You can clear cookies in your browser's settings as well, though doing that signs you out and empties a basket you have not checked out.
Strictly necessary

Preferences
Off until you allow itRemember the choices you make yourself: your display currency and the area you shop in. Turn these off and the choices still work for as long as your browser is open, they just will not be waiting for you next time.

Analytics and personalisation
Off until you allow itLet us recognise the same browser across visits so we can show you "recently viewed" and "for you", see which listings and searches are working, and fix what is not. Turn these off and the marketplace still works; it just stops learning from you and shows everyone the same thing.
